We ask that participants are over 18 years old and have:

  • Functional Skills Maths
  • Internet access

Description:

This stand alone course is designed for care professionals navigating the practical, social and cultural needs of our African and African Caribbean service users approaching death. Designed to enlighten the learner of the many cultural requirements of specific communities within the UK, this course provides necessary knowledge of specific personal care needs and expectations within family homes and ethnic communities at end of life.

Active participation will enhance meaningful communication and enable an exchange of confidence between care professionals and their clients on the approach to death.

Booking a place represents a commitment to attend the every day or session of the course booked. Before booking a place please ensure that you can commit to all dates and keep them free of other commitments.  It is important that you complete the course in one cohort as it is experiential learning.

Once your booking is confirmed we will send details of how to enroll, which includes a request for a personal statement to explain your motivation for joining the course and we also request a photo for our records.  The Learner’s Handbook and Resource pack are issued to each Learner before the course.
